GUWAHATI: The highly anticipated Asian Junior Tennis Tournament for boys and girls under 14 years commenced on Monday, May 6, at the All Assam Tennis Association complex in Chachal, Guwahati.

However, the opening day of the tournament was marred by incessant rain and adverse weather conditions, leading to multiple disruptions in the matches scheduled for the day.
Despite the challenging weather conditions, all the first-round singles matches were successfully completed without any major upsets. However, the continuous rain hampered the progress of the tournament, causing delays and interruptions throughout the day.

As of the latest update, the pre-quarterfinals doubles matches were underway at the time of filing this report, with players and officials closely monitoring the weather conditions.
Looking ahead, the second-round singles matches of the tournament are scheduled to commence promptly at 7:30 AM on Tuesday, with organisers hopeful for improved weather conditions to facilitate smooth proceedings.
Despite the initial setbacks, players, coaches, and organisers remain optimistic about the remainder of the tournament, expressing confidence in delivering an exciting and competitive event for all participants.
