Rail, Road Transport Disrupted Amidst Incessant Rainfall In Assam’s Dima Hasao 

 

GUWAHATI: Amidst heavy rainfall in the past few days, road transportation and train services faced inconvenience in the hilly areas of Dima Hasao district of Assam due to landslides, said an official to news agency ANI on Thursday, May 12.

Rail routes between Maibang and Mahur in the district reported several landslides due to the endless rainfall. Several trains were also delayed because of the disruption, ANI reported.

However, the railway teams are working to restore the damaged track.

According to reports, a railway official stated that they had stopped passenger trains at Maibang station in Assam.

Further, the police and administration officials had rescued 11 labourers who were stuck on the other side of the Jatinga river near Harangajao in Assam, as per an ANI report.
