The wedding is scheduled to take place on December 22 in Udaipur, with a reception to follow in Hyderabad on December 24.
Sindhu, celebrated as one of India's greatest badminton players and the second Indian to win consecutive Olympic medals, finalised the match just a month ago. Her father, PV Ramana, explained that the families agreed on a December ceremony to accommodate Sindhu’s busy schedule. “The two families have known each other, but the decision was finalised only a month ago. This was the only window available, as her 2025 season will be packed with tournaments starting in January,” he said.
Sindhu’s fiancé, Venkata Datta Sai, serves as an executive director at Posidex Technologies, a company whose new logo Sindhu unveiled recently. Sai is the son of GT Venkateshwar Rao, managing director of Posidex Technologies and a former member of the Indian Revenue Service (IRS).
Sai has an impressive academic background, holding a Diploma in Liberal Arts and Sciences from the Foundation of Liberal and Management Education, a BBA in Accounting and Finance from FLAME University, and a Master’s in Data Science and Machine Learning from the International Institute of Information Technology, Bangalore.
The couple plans to keep celebrations brief as Sindhu will return to training shortly after the reception, gearing up for a crucial 2025 season.
