GUWAHATI: The Centre has declared half day for public sector financial institutions and railway offices on January 22 in view of the Ram Mandir Pran Patishtha ceremony.
All public sector banks, public sector insurance companies, public sector financial institutions, and regional rural banks along with all railway offices and institutions across the country will remain closed till 2:30 PM on January 22, 2024, on account of this half-holiday, according to an official notification on January 18.
“This is with reference to the Department of Personnel and Training's (DoPT)'s OM No. 12/7/2023-JCA dated 18.01.2024 (copy enclosed) on the subject captioned above. and to inform that DoPT's order in respect of Central institutions and Central Industrial Establishments shall also apply to all Public Sector Banks/ Public Sector Insurance Companies/ Public Sector Financial Institutions and Regional Rural Banks to enable employees to participate In the Ram Lalla Pran Pratishtha celebrations,” read the first notification for the banks.
“On the above mentioned subject, Department of Personnel and Training vide O.M. No.12/7/2023-JCA dated 18.01.2024 has advised under: The Ram Lalla Pran Pratishtha at Ayodhya will be celebrated on 22™ January, 2024 across India. To enable employees to participate in the celebrations, it has been decided that all Central Government Offices, Central Institutions and Central Industrial Establishments throughout India will be closed for half day till 1430 hrs. On 22nd January, 2024. Zonal Railways and PUs may please bring the above to the notice of all concerned,” read the railway order.
