GUWAHATI: In a significant breakthrough, the Jorabat Police apprehended a prime suspect involved in the production and circulation of counterfeit currency notes.
This development comes following the arrest of a smuggler on June 17, who was found in possession of a substantial number of fake currencies.
Under the leadership of police officer Kapil Pathak, a meticulously planned operation led to the successful detention of Ziabur Rahman in Lakhimpur.
The Jorabat Police had intensified their efforts to gather intelligence and crack down on the illegal counterfeit currency network operating in the region.
Ziabur Rahman, the apprehended individual, is believed to be a key figure involved in the production and distribution of counterfeit banknotes.
The police have taken him into custody and are currently interrogating him to extract more information regarding the illicit activities.
