Waseem Akhter Ahmed of APDCL represented Assam in the 46th All India Electricity Sports Control Board Lawn Tennis Tournament held in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, from November 23 to 25.

Competing in the Men’s Open Singles event, Ahmed finished as the runner-up. In the final, he faced Suraj H of Kerala State Electricity Board, losing 9-1. Incidentally, this was also Assam’s first appearance in the national tournament.
Ahmed, who currently serves as Deputy Manager (HR) at APDCL, also led the Assam team in the Team Event.
The team went on to deliver a commendable performance, securing fourth place after a tough match against Chhattisgarh for the third position.
