A group prayer meeting was held on April 30 at Shri Guru Singh Sabha Gurudwara in Gopinath Nagar to mourn the lives lost in the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam. The event was organised by #IAmTheBest Leadership Academy in association with the Gurudwara and supported by Punjabi Sabha.
The gathering was attended by prominent citizens of Guwahati, including Neeru Sethi, President of the Gurudwara Committee; Harsh Arya, President of Punjabi Sabha; and Tinat Atifa Masood, Founder and CEO of #IAmTheBest Leadership Academy, who initiated the meeting.
Tinat Atifa Masood spoke about the need for every citizen to uphold peace and unity, urging families to foster compassion at home. Neeru Sethi condemned the killings and called for strength and solidarity among people. Harsh Arya highlighted the importance of unity and brotherhood in facing such tragedies.
The meeting included a one-minute silence for the victims, followed by a candle lighting ceremony in the Gurudwara courtyard. Attendees then gathered in the Diwan Hall for group prayers, where verses from the Guru Granth Sahib were sung in remembrance and hope for peace.
The event served as a solemn reminder of the need for harmony and resilience in difficult times.
