Prapti Medhi Becomes First From Assam, NE To Win National Silver In Roller Skating

GUWAHATI: Assam girl Prapti Medhi has bagged a silver medal in the ongoing 59th National Roller Skating Championships. Medhi secured the second position in the 500-metres ring race by completing it in 56.62 seconds. She is the first skater to win a silver medal from Eastern India. Prapti is also the first and only skater from North East India to have secured a medal at the national-level skating championships.

The national championships are underway in Delhi, Mohali and Chandigarh from 11 to 22 December 2021 and conducted by the Roller Skating Federation of India.

Prapti had bagged the bronze in the previous 58th National Roller Skating Championships held earlier this year in the girls’ sub-junior quad skate category. A team of 25 young skaters of the Roller Skating Association of Assam participated in the national championships.
