GUWAHATI: Assam Police seized 18.108 kg of opium during an operation at Karagaon Naka Point, Karbi Anglong. The seizure took place on Sunday, February 23, after officers intercepted a vehicle transporting the illicit substance. One individual has been arrested in connection with the case.

In another anti-narcotics drive earlier this month, Basistha Police apprehended a drug peddler at Balughat, recovering 123.46 grams of heroin on Friday, February 14. The heroin was concealed inside 11 soap boxes in an attempt to evade detection.
