Police Official Caught In Bribery Case At Baksa

 

GUWAHATI: The Directorate of Vigilance & Anti-Corruption, Assam, (DVAC) on October 3, arrested a police official on alleged charges of bribery at Barama police station in Baksa.

The official identified as Subal Ch. Roy, a Sub-Inspector of Barama Police Station, District Baksa was caught red-handed within the police station campus while allegedly accepting a bribe from a complainant in exchange for the release of the complainant's vehicle.

The operation was conducted following a complaint lodged with the anti-corruption unit, leading to the successful trap and arrest of the officer. Further investigations are underway.
