GUWAHATI: The Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) took the initiative to launch 25 pink buses to ensure free and safe transport services not just to the senior citizens but also to the female passengers of Guwahati.
The Transport Department of Assam reported that these pink buses will be operated on some of the busiest routes of the city through the day and will provide fast, safe, and easy mobility to women as well as senior citizens.
The routes to be covered by the 25 buses are– Khanapara-Jalukbari via Paltan Bazar, Forest Gate-Jalukbari via Chandmari, Basistha Mandir-Jalukbari via Paltan Bazar, Khanapara-Jalukbari via ISBT and Games Village/ Bhetapara-Jalukbari via Paltan Bazar.
The Transport Department also stated that female passengers need not produce any identification whereas senior citizens may show Aadhar card/Pan card/driving license/any other ID card issued by the government.
