GUWAHATI: Ahead of the Lok Sabha Elections, flying squads have been deployed in the Kamrup Metropolitan District to stop any illegal movement of money or other banned items.

Talking to GPlus, a senior official from the district administration said, "Since the date of the announcement, we have confiscated over ₹25 lakh in various parts of Kamrup Metro. Major amounts were found in Bhetapara, Dispur, and Azara areas." "There are 15 flying squads in Kamrup Metro," he added.

Another senior official from district administration talking to GPlus said, "If a vehicle carrying a candidate, their agent, or a party worker is caught with more than ₹50,000 in cash, or drugs, alcohol, weapons, or gifts worth over ₹10,000, we'll seize the cash or items."
