Over ₹1 Lakh Fake Currency Seized In Lalmati, Six Apprehended

 

GUWAHATI: A raid was conducted near the IIE Office, Lalmati, Guwahati where fake gold along with counterfeit currency was seized on December 12. 

Among the items recovered during the raid were three suspected fake gold boat-shaped weights, totaling 3.556 kg. Additionally, 315 pieces of counterfeit currency notes in denominations of ₹200 and ₹500 were seized, amounting to ₹1,04,700 (One Lakh four thousand seven hundred in fake currency). 

Other confiscated items include five mobile phones and cash amounting to ₹1,08,490 (One Lakh eight thousand four hundred ninety) among other items. The operation also led to the apprehension of several individuals involved in the alleged criminal activities. 

The individuals taken into custody during the raid have been identified as follows:
Debdas Halder, Santosh Mandal and Nitay Halder from West Bengal, Manuj Kumar from Uttarakhand, Saddam Hussain from Lakhimpur, and Shivam Kumar from Uttar Pradesh.

The apprehended individuals are currently undergoing necessary legal procedures
