GUWAHATI: The Assam State Cabinet, during its recent meeting on November 16, announced the implementation of Mission Basundhara 2.0 which focuses on settling land in favour of indigenous, landless families in Morigaon, Kamrup (Metro), Kamrup, Goalpara, Lakhimpur, Sonitpur, Darrang, Tinsukia, and Dhemaji districts.
A total of 3,576 indigenous, landless families across these nine districts are set to benefit from this land settlement endeavour.
The mission is aimed at ensuring equitable distribution of land resources and providing sustainable livelihood opportunities for vulnerable communities. By addressing the land needs of indigenous families, Mission Basundhara 2.0 contributes to fostering social and economic development in the specified districts, aligning with the broader vision of inclusive growth and empowerment.
The successful implementation of this mission is expected to bring about positive transformations in the lives of the indigenous, landless families in Assam.
