Over 3,000 New COVID-19 Cases Registered Nationwide in Last 24 Hours

GUWAHATI: The total number of coronavirus cases in India has gone up to 56,342 as per data released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoFWH) this morning. More than 3,000 fresh cases have been identified throughout the country in just about 24 hours.

Over 1,800 have succumbed to the fatal illness and lost their lives. With the continuous rise in Covid-19 positive cases, India has jumped to the 13th rank in the list of countries worst affected by the pandemic.

Rising cases in Maharashtra and Gujarat have become a major issue of concern with 17,974 and 7,012 cases in these states respectively. Meanwhile, the numbers continue to rise in other states with 5,409 cases in the southern state of Tamil Nadu and 5,980 people affected by the deadly coronavirus in the national capital Delhi.

In Assam, the total number of active coronavirus cases has gone up to 19 after 9 cases were identified in Guwahati last night.
