One More Giraffe Brought to Assam State Zoo

GUWAHATI: After travelling an epic journey of 3300 kms, a male giraffe from Mysore Zoo reached Assam State Zoo today morning, December 5, under an animal exchange programme.

It is to be mentioned that the giraffes will be part of Assam State Zoo after a period of 8 years.

Earlier, the Assam State Zoo cum Botanical Garden in an exchange programme between State Zoo and Sanjay Gandhi Biological Park, Patna has acquired a female giraffe.

Assam Minister of Excise, Forest and Environment, Parimal Suklabaidya shared a photograph of the male and female giraffes basking in the sun and wrote on the Twitter, "The male and the female are happy together."
