GUWAHATI: The Kamrup district administration has decided to close down the old Saraighat Bridge in order to carry out a massive repair of the road deck portion of Saraighat Bridge from February 10.
It is to be mentioned that as many as 80 identified deck slabs of Saraighat bridge are going to be replaced in the maintenance work. Also after completing the slab, Asphalt layer will be provided over the entire bridge after replacing all expansion joints.

Over 100 steel barricades will be placed to deal with traffic problems post the closure of the old Saraighat bridge.
