GUWAHATI: Oil India Limited (OIL) has given appointment to the family members of two staff members who had lost their lives in the gas blowout at the Baghjan Oil Well while they were on duty.
Following a massive blowout at Tinsukia’s Baghjan Oil Field on May 27, 2 bodies were recovered from the blast site on June 9, after a second blast.

The deceased were identified as Durlav Gogoi, an employee of Oil India Limited and also a former goalkeeper of Oil India football team. The other deceased was identified as Tikeshwar Gohain.
Purabi Gogoi, wife of Durlav Gogoi and Pranab Jyoti Gohain, son of Tikheswar Gohain were appointed on compassionate grounds by the organization.
