GUWAHATI: In order to crackdown on traffic violators, Guwahati district administration has opened two Facebook accounts alongwith dedicated whatsapp numbers for common public to report any such incident immediately by sending posts and video.
The details of facebook Account and WhatsApp numbers are as follows:
Facebook accounts are 'Guwahati Traffic and Traffic Solution Guwahati'. While the Facebook Page is 'Traffic Management Guwahati Police Commissionerate'.
On the other hand, the Whatsapp numbers are 69012-69006 and 60261-76755.
Earlier the Gauhati High Court has also directed the police to widely publish the WhatsApp numbers through advertising boards to notify the people.
Responding to a Public Interest Litigation, the court directed the police to conduct a study of the traffic situation in areas like Uzanbazar, Panbazar, Fancybazar and Machkhowa.
