GUWAHATI: With the voting underway for the second phase of Lok Sabha elections on April 26, encompassing 88 parliamentary constituencies nationwide, many notable figures from the country have been seen participating in their right to vote.

Legendary cricketer and the coach of the Indian Cricket team Rahul Dravid cast his vote today in Dollars Colony in Bengaluru. He was seen wearing casual clothes and standing in the queue to cast his vote. His simplicity won people over, and several visuals of the cricketer highlighting just that went viral on social media.
Also in another instance, the ISRO chief S Somanath participated in the second phase of Lok Sabha voting today. He was seen queuing up at a polling station in Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala.
Infosys founder Narayana Murthy along with his wife Sudha Murthy cast his vote in Bengaluru. Narayana Murthy showed up despite his ill health, said his wife Sudha Murthy. The Rajya Sabha MP also added that he was discharged from the hospital Friday morning, and will go back home after casting his vote.
Additionally, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor was also seen casting his vote in Thiruvananthapuram. Actor Yash was also seen voting in Bengaluru, as per video reports.
The voting began at 7 am and will continue until 5 pm. The Election Commission provides an extra hour buffer period for voters who are already present in the voting queue. Overall the 88 seats recorded 9.3 % voter turnout in the first two hours till 9 am. Kerala recorded 8.52 % voter turnout in Kerala till 9 am. Karnataka recorded 9.21 % turnout, MP saw a 13.82 % turnout till 9 am, according to the Election Commission.
Meanwhile, voting is also underway in Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal.
