GUWAHATI: State health and family welfare minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma said in a press meet on March 20 said that no standing passengers will be allowed to travel in buses in Assam as a preventive step against coronavirus.
The Minister also said that all exams in the state stand postponed till March 31 to contain the coronavirus spread in Assam and to ensure social distancing.
He also mentioned that no positive cases of Coronavirus have been detected in Assam so far.
Further he said that, transport department officials will confiscate such buses where people are seen standing while travelling.
