No Opening Ceremony for IPL 2019: Vinod Rai

GUWAHATI: The Committee of Administrators (CoA) chief Vinod Rai has said that the money which was due to be spent in the opening ceremony for IPL 2019 will now be donated to the martyred jawans who were killed in the recent Pulwama attack. 

“There will be no IPL opening ceremony. Instead, the money will be donated to Pulwama martyrs,” he was quoted saying by Cricket Next.

It is to be mentioned that the 12th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is all set to commence on March 23 and last year's defending champions, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will lock horns with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on the opening night.
