No Division Or Distinction For Board Students: CBSE

GUWAHATI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has recently addressed inquiries on the criteria for calculating percentages in board examinations. 

In response, the CBSE highlighted the guidelines outlined in Chapter 7 of the Examination Bye-Laws, specifically sub-section 40.1 (iii).

CBSE has stated that no overall division, distinction, or aggregate shall be awarded to students.

Additionally, if a candidate has taken more than five subjects, the decision to determine the best five subjects may be made by the institution or employer.

The CBSE also stated that it does not calculate, declare, or inform the percentage obtained by students. If there is a need for percentage information, for purposes of higher education or employment, the institution or employer may carry out the necessary calculations based on the individual's performance.
