NIA Takes Over Investigation Into Pahalgam Terror Attack

 

GUWAHATI: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has officially taken over the investigation into the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, which resulted in the deaths of 26 tourists on April 22. This decision follows instructions from the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).

NIA teams have ramped up efforts to search for evidence at the Baisaran valley site of the attack.

The operation is being closely supervised by senior officers, including an Inspector General, Deputy Inspector General, and Superintendent of Police. In addition, eyewitnesses are being questioned in detail to piece together the events leading to the attack.

Investigators are also examining the entry and exit points of the valley to gather clues about the terrorists’ movements.

Forensic experts are working alongside NIA teams to examine the area meticulously, hoping to uncover material evidence and shed light on the conspiracy behind the attack, which has sparked widespread outrage across the country.
