No announcement made by Modi for local investors in Advantage Assam

After the inaugural speech by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, some business experts and investors felt that Modi did not announce anything big which could impress the local investors.

A local investor present during the summit, talking to G Plus in anonymity said, "All the investors were expecting that the new industrial policy for Assam and North East will be announced. But it did not happen." The investor also said that even Union Minister of Commerce and Industries did not talk about the policy.

In order to accelerate the overall growth of the north eastern region, the Centre announced the North East Industrial and Investment Promotion Policy (NEIIPP), 2007, with a validity of 10 years. The policy expired last year in March and since then investors are continuing to wait for a policy.

Many felt that Modi in his Advantage Assam inaugural speech was just bragging about the development which the BJP Governement carried out till date under the leadership of Modi.

Another investor felt that Modi's speech was a repetatition of Arun Jaitley's Union Budget 2018 speech.
