The suspension orders were issued by Mamata Hojai, Director of Secondary Education, Assam, after the accused officials failed to respond satisfactorily to earlier show-cause notices

Talking to GPlus, Hojai said, “They are placed under suspension."

Among those suspended are Dr. Rohit Chandra Rabha, Principal of Narengkati Higher Secondary School in Sonitpur, Sandhya Bezbora, Principal of PM Shri Kathiatali HS School in Nagaon, who has been directly linked to the leak of question papers in the HS First Year exams.

In Goalpara, Himani Dutta, a subject teacher at Baguan HS School, has been held responsible for leaking the Advanced Assamese paper. Officials say her actions contributed to a breach of exam integrity, prompting swift disciplinary action.

The list of suspended principals also includes three from Dhemaji district—Kabita Chutia of Bordoloni HS School, Chakraborty Borgohain of Dhemaji Girls’ Senior Secondary School, and Gopiram Doley of West Jonai Senior Secondary School.

In Majuli, Lilamoni Borgohain of Kamalabari Satra HS School has been suspended, while in Dhubri, Moinul Haque Mandal of Lakhiganj HS School has also been removed from duty. From Rangiya in Kamrup, Pradip Kalita, who was in-charge of Rangiya Girls’ HS School, has been placed under suspension as well.

To ensure the schools continue to function without disruption, the ASSEB has directed District Inspectors of Schools to take temporary charge of the affected institutions until further orders are issued.
