NFR To Run Special Trains To Meet Durga Puja Travel Demand

 

GUWAHATI: The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) will operate three pairs of weekly special trains to ease the Durga Puja travel rush, including one from Assam.

Announcing this on Monday, September 23, the NFR said the trains will run between Rangapara North-Shalimar, Forbesganj-Agra Cantt., and New Jalpaiguri-Howrah.

Special train no. 08047 will operate between Shalimar and Rangapara North for three trips, departing Shalimar at 6:00 PM every Friday from October 4 to October 18, arriving in Rangapara North at 1:40 PM the following day. The return service, train no. 08048, will depart from Rangapara North at 4:30 PM every Saturday from October 5 to October 19, reaching Shalimar at 12:30 PM the next day, a statement said.

Train no. 04195 will run between Agra Cantt. and Forbesganj for eight trips, departing Agra Cantt. at 5:00 AM every Friday from October 4 until November 22, reaching Forbesganj at 3:15 PM the following day. The return service, train no. 04196, will depart from Forbesganj at 6:40 PM every Saturday from October 5 to November 23, arriving in Agra Cantt. at 7:10 AM the following Monday.

Special train no. 03027 will operate between Howrah and New Jalpaiguri for four trips, leaving Howrah at 11:55 PM every Wednesday from October 9 until November 6, arriving in New Jalpaiguri at 10:45 AM the next day. In the return direction, train no. 03028 will depart from New Jalpaiguri at 12:45 PM every Thursday from October 10 until November 7, reaching Howrah at 12:10 AM the following day.
