The oath-taking ceremony, held at Raj Niwas, saw five other ministers — Gopal Rai, Saurabh Bharadwaj, Kailash Gahlot, Imran Hussain, and first-time MLA Mukesh Ahlawat — also take oath.

Atishi was appointed chief minister after Arvind Kejriwal resigned from the post on September 17. Kejriwal's resignation was accepted by Lieutenant-Governor V.K. Saxena, while Atishi was unanimously selected as the leader of the AAP Legislature Party, paving the way for her new role.

A gazette notification issued by the Union Home Ministry confirmed the appointment, stating that Atishi would assume office immediately after the swearing-in. The President also approved the appointment of the other five Cabinet ministers.
