GUWAHATI: Indian Railways is set to launch Northeast India’s premier Vande Bharat Express which will run from Guwahati to New Jalpaiguri.
Though the dates are not finalized yet, it is to be launched soon.
The train is set to start the journey from Guwahati in Assam to New Jalpaiguri in West Bengal’s Siliguri and vice versa.
The train will be able to run at a maximum speed of 110 km per hour.
Talking to G Plus, PRO Northeast Frontier Railway, Sabyasachi De said, “The Vande Bharat Express will be launched from Guwahati to New Jalpaiguri but the dates are not finalized yet. It will be launched soon.”
Guwahati-NJP route’s Vande Bharat Express train stations are yet to be decided. At present, the NFR is running Vande Bharat Express only between Howrah and New Jalpaiguri, both in West Bengal.
This latest train promises to be a grand feature in terms of Railway and Transport development for Northeast India.
