GUWAHATI: The North East Students’ Organisation (NESO) will hold protests against various burning issues in the capitals of all North Eastern states on August 17, 2022. The protest will begin at 3 PM in Guwahati.
The protest will be held over the cancellation of Citizen Amendment Act (CAA) and other issues. Apart from CAA, other major issues include: Seeking a permanent solution to illegal immigrants, implementation of Assam Accord, the ongoing Jihadi issue, cancellation of AFSPA from all northeastern states and providing Inner Line Permit system for entire the North East.
While speaking to G Plus, NESO Advisor Samujjal Bhattacharjya said that on behalf of NESO and All Assam Students’ Union, a protest will be held in Guwahati, tomorrow on August 17.
AASU leaders and members will participate in the protest. Other NESO members will protest in their respective state capitals.
