GUWAHATI: A 21-year-old woman was attacked and stabbed in the Kochpara area of Satgaon Railway Quarters, Guwahati on Thursday evening, October 6. The woman identified as Anjali Biswas is a resident of Block A of Kochpara. The attacker Rafik Ali, a 23-year-old man, is reportedly also her neighbour.
Speaking to G Plus, the Assistant Sub-Inspector of the Satgaon Police Station said, "Anjali was roaming near a field in Block A when Rafik pushed her and stabbed her continuously. She was stabbed several times in several parts of her body. He stabbed her on neck, hands, legs and also her abdomen. She was taken to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital for treatment and was admitted to the ICU. She is in a very severe condition. She will be undergoing a surgical procedure soon.”
When asked about the intention of the crime, the Police official said that there was a clash between the two families of Anjali and Rafik that might have led to this incident. Rafik has been arrested and sent to jail. Further details are awaited.
