National Milk Day To Be Celebrated In Guwahati On November 26

 

GUWAHATI: The Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary and the Dairy Development Department are gearing up for the celebration of "National Milk Day 2023" at the playground of the College of Veterinary Science at Khanapara in Guwahati.

This commemorative event, scheduled for tomorrow, honours the 102nd birth anniversary of Dr. Verghese, renowned as the "Father of the White Revolution in India."

The Chief Guest for the occasion will be Parshottam Rupala, Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying.

The event will also witness the presence of Sanjeev Kumar Balyan, Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying, along with state Ministers for Animal Husbandry from Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh.

The agenda for the day includes an exhibition featuring innovative technologies, livestock products, and services.

A technical session focused on feed and fodder, with a special emphasis on formulating a fodder strategy for the Northeastern states, is also scheduled.

As part of the event, the state-level launch of the A-HELP (Accredited Agent for Health and Extension of Livestock Production) programme is slated to take place. The collaboration for the event involves the State Animal Husbandry Department, Assam Livestock Development Board, and NDDB.

Notably, the prestigious National Gopal Ratna Awards 2023 will be conferred during the celebration, adding to the significance of the occasion.
