'Nai Manzil Scheme' for dropout students launched

GUWAHATI : With the aim to help underprivileged and dropout students through education and skill-based training, Union Government’s initiative 'Nai Manzil Scheme', was launched at the Education Research and Development Foundation (ERDF).

Siddharth Kishore Dev Verman, Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Minority Affairs, formally launched the scheme in the presence of ERDF Chairman M Hoque.

The 'Nai Manzil Scheme' aims to provide educational intervention through bridge courses to trainees and getting them certificates for Class X and XII thur distance-learning system.

It seeks to provide trade-based skill training in four courses : 

Manufacturing, 
Engineering, 
Services and 
Soft Skills.

The scheme intends to cover people between the age group of 17 and 35 from all minority communities.

This scheme aims to help students from the minorities to continue higher education and also open up employment opportunities in the organised sector.
