GUWAHATI: In a case of saviour turning into predator, an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of the Satgaon Police Station was arrested on charges of sexually assaulting two women inside the police station.
The victims had gone to the police station for different purposes and were allegedly misbehaved by the on-duty ASI, Mohan Doley.
The victims had complained about the serious matter and taking cognizance the Police Commissioner, Pradip Chandra Saloi had asked the Noonmati ACP, Purabi Mazumdar to conduct an inquiry and submit a report. The Police Commissioner has assured that there would be no compromise in the case.
The inquiry conducted by ACP, Noonmati found sufficient evidence against the ASI, Mohan Doley after which he has been placed under suspension.
A case has also been registered under Section 354 of IPC (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), informed ACP Mazumdar.
Doley had been absconding after the case was registered and was later arrested from Six Mile.
