Mobile Internet Services To Be Temporarily Suspended During Recruitment Exams In Assam

 

GUWAHATI: The Assam Government has decided to restrict the mobile internet services in several districts of the State to ensure smooth conduct of recruitment examinations for government jobs.

14,30,337 candidates are expected to appear for the recruitment examinations that will be held for nearly 30,000 Grade III and Grade IV posts for different State government departments. This was informed by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma during a virtual meeting with the District Commissioners (DCs) and other stakeholders today, August 17. The examinations will be held in 25 districts across Assam.

Further, the DCs and other related officers will have to follow the SOP issued by the government. 

"...The candidates along with the invigilators will be barred from carrying mobile phones or any other electronic gadgets in to the centre of examination. The centre-in-charge in each examination centre will engage two videographers to video graph all relevant happenings in the examination centres. No candidate will be allowed to re-enter the examination centre after the end of the examination of that particular shift. However, the same candidate will be allowed to enter only at the prescribed hour and after proper frisking. The examinations will be held on 21, 28 August and 11 September and on the days of examination mobile internet for three hours will be kept suspended," read a press release issued by the government. 

“Mobile internet will be shut for two hours, from 10AM to-12PM and from 2PM-4PM in the districts where the examinations will be held but wired internet will be available,” the CM said during the meeting.
