GUWAHATI: A 15-year-old girl reported missing from Amsing Jorabat on the outskirts of Guwahati has been rescued by Satgaon police.

The rescue operation was carried out late on Friday, May 2, night by the Satgaon Police Station, following a complaint filed by the minor’s family.
The accused, identified as Idris Ali Sheikh from Hojai, has been arrested in connection with the alleged abduction. According to police officials, the girl was lured and taken away by the accused on the night of May 1. Following her disappearance, the family lodged a First Information Report (FIR) at the Satgaon Police Station the next morning.
A senior official from the station confirmed the successful recovery of the girl and the arrest of Idris Ali. “We have rescued the girl from Dimapur,” the official said to GPlus.
The girl, who is a student of Class 9, has since been brought back to Guwahati. She is currently under the care of the authorities and is expected to undergo a medical check-up and counselling as per standard procedure.
Further investigation into the case is ongoing.
