GUWAHATI: The recent mob lynching incident that claimed the lives of two young Guwahati boys has put the entire state of Assam to shame. People from all fields and all corners of the state have come out to raise their voices and condemn the heinous crime. Amidst all these, the residents of Silpukhuri have taken an initiative to preserve the memories of Abhijit and Nilotpal, the mob lynching victims, in a book.

The book is likely to be released on August 12, by  President of the Assam Sahitya Sabha, Paramananda Rajbongshi.

The book, along with memories and tributes for Abhijit and Nilotpal will also have space for people to write about the Jhankar mob lynching incident.

The book is an initiative to spread more awareness about superstitious beliefs which have claimed lives time and again.

One of the core members of the book publishing team, Bedanta Bhagowati, while speaking to G Plus said, "We plan to release as many as 3,000 copies of the book across Assam, and stock a few copies at all the district libraries, which will make it easily accessible by the people."

Bedanta further added, "The book will be entirely by the people. Anyone who wants to write anything in memory of the boys is open to contributing. If interested, write-ups in Assamese or English can be sent to bedantabhagowati@gmail.com
