Meghalaya Records Six more Positive Cases, All Related to the 1st COVID-19 Death

GUWAHATI: After Meghalaya recorded its first death due to COVID-19, six more people have tested positive in the state.

All these people are related to the 69- year old senior doctor who passed away.

Confirming the positive cases, Chief Minister of Meghalya, Conrad Sangma tweeted, "Of the 68 tested so far, 6 have come out positive who are all family members and helpers of the first #Covid19 positive case.6 other cases are retested. All the rest of the cases are negative."

The patient who passed away on Wednesday morning in Bethany Hospital does not have any travel history and reportedly contracted the deadly virus through his son-in-law, who is a pilot with Air India.

The latter had travelled to Shillong from New York, via New Delhi and had also visited Manipur.
