Medical Team Deployed at Guwahati Airport to Screen for Coronavirus

GUWAHATI: Amidst the outbreak of the deadly coronavirus, Assam Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Pijush Hazarika has informed that a medical team has been deployed at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport in Guwahati to keep a tab on the inbound and outbound passengers.

According to reports, two ambulances are kept outside the airport for emergency and an isolated ward has also been kept ready at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).

Meanwhile, an important meeting was conducted at the Airport Director office, LGBI Airport for preparedness to check coronavirus and SOP as well as modus operandi at Guwahati Airport early today.

It is to be mentioned that the World Health Organization(WHO) declared the coronavirus as a public health emergency of international concern.
