GUWAHATI: Six-time world champion MC Mary Kom has been nominated for the inaugural BBC Indian sportswoman of the year award.
Along with Mary Kom, two other athletes wrestler Vinesh Phogat, badminton queen PV Sindhu will compete for the honour.
The winner will be decided on the basis of public voting, which will be open till 18 February on six BBC vernacular websites.

It is to be mentioned that Mary Kom is the only Indian boxer to win eight world medals, including six gold.
Earlier MC Mary Kom has been awarded the prestigious Padma Vibhushan.
