GUWAHATAI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, recently talked about the progress in the medical field in Assam during the inauguration of the Bongshar mini stadium and a felicitation program for meritorious students in Kamrup district.
Sarma highlighted the significant increase in MBBS seats, stating that while there were 200 seats in the past, there are now 1200 seats.
Sarma in this context also encouraged citizens to embrace positivity, stating its role in driving progress and development.
Drawing parallels with influential figures like Einstein, Sachin Tendulkar, and Narendra Modi, Sarma also emphasised on the role of hope and discouraged despair, he said, “Despair is our enemy; hope is our friend."
In his address, Sarma expressed deep gratitude for the role of his constituency, Jalukbari, in shaping his life, talking about the personal connection he has with the people. Sarma acknowledged the enduring bond with students, considering them as his children, and expressed pride in their development and accomplishments in Jalukbari.
He also said, "While some of you may now be parents, every student remains, and will always be, my child. Just as the success of a child brings pride to its parents, the development and accomplishments of each student in Jalukbari bring me personal pride."
