GUWAHATI: Grassroot workers of several organisations staged a massive protest in front of the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) headquarters at Ambari in Guwahati opposing the ties between the AGP and BJP in Assam on March 16.
Workers gheraoed the AGP office and shouted slogans showing resentment against the regional party’s decision to contest alongside with the BJP.
Later, police and CRPF arrived at the spot to control the situation. Police also arrested AGP worker Sushil Deka for allegedly attacking the protesters including women.
