GUWAHATI: Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi on Friday, 13 January, inaugurated the Maritime Skill Development Centre in Guwahati virtually.
The PM, in his address, emphasized the need for training a skilled workforce and said that the new centre would help hone the rich talent pool in the North Eastern region, along with providing a better opportunity for employment in the burgeoning logistics industry.
“Be it a cruise ship or a cargo ship, they not only give a boost to transport and tourism, but the entire industry associated with their service also creates new opportunities,” said PM Modi.
PM Modi also inaugurated the longest river cruise in the world – MV Ganga Vilas, along with various other new inland waterways projects worth ₹1,000 crores.
