GUWAHATI:India's ace shooter Manu Bhaker created history in the Paris Olympics 2024, becoming the first athlete from Independent India to win two medals in the same Olympic Games after winning the 10m air pistol mixed team bronze medal match on Tuesday, July 30.

The doubles team of Manu Bakher and Sarabjot Singh defeated Korea to bag the bronze medal. Manu Bhaker had earlier opened India’s account at the 2024 Paris Olympics with a bronze in the women’s 10m air pistol event.
The only Indian athlete who has done so before is Norman Pritchard won two silver medals in athletics during the 1900 Games when India was under British rule. After Pritchard, no Indian athlete has managed to win two medals in a single campaign.
