GUWAHATI: A man voluntarily surrendered at the Paltanbazar Police Station on Sunday, February 16, after allegedly murdering his wife inside their rented residence in Ulubari, Guwahati.

The accused, identified as Rubul Sharma (36), son of late Lohit Sharma from Mathurapur in Nalbari district, arrived at the police station around 9:10 AM and verbally confessed to killing his wife, Shreya Bhattacharjee, inside their home.
He claimed to have used a rod, a wooden stick (lathi), and other objects to commit the crime before immediately turning himself in.
According to central police district sources, the incident took place at H/N-18, Bylane-01, near Bosco Reachout, Ulubari. Authorities have launched an investigation, and forensic teams have been dispatched to the crime scene.
