GUWAHATI: A person was proven guilty and has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for raping a minor in Guwahati.

A team from Jalukbari outpost(OP) under the West Guwahati Police District (WGPD) has secured prosecution against Dilip Das of Lankeswar Namusudra Para, who has been convicted of the crime of raping a 10-year-old girl. The First Information Report (FIR) for this case was registered on January 22, 2023.
The Fast Track Court found Dilip Das guilty under Section 376-AB of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) read with Section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The court sentenced him to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of ₹10,000.
