Man Rescued After Abduction From Guwahati, Five Arrested

 

GUWAHATI: Guwahati police have rescued a man who was abducted from the city, in the early hours of Friday, March 28. The victim, identified as Fakhruddin Bhuyan from Barpeta, was discovered being held captive in Meghalaya’s Umiam region.

Bhuyan was reportedly kidnapped on Thursday, March 27, during his visit to Guwahati to watch an Indian Premier League (IPL) match. Guwahati police tracked his location and carried out the rescue operation.

An official from Dispur police station confirmed the operation, stating: “Guwahati police have rescued a man from Barpeta who was abducted from Bhagadattapur on Friday. He was found held captive in Meghalaya’s Umiam area. Five individuals have been arrested, and further investigations are underway to uncover more details about the case.”

Authorities are continuing their probe into the motive behind the abduction and whether more individuals were involved.
