GUWAHATI: A man died on the spot after being hit by a car near the old medical centre in the Sonapur area of Assam on January 2.
The deceased has been identified as Manoj Kumar Barman, a resident of Sonapur, who was riding his bicycle when the car struck him. The accident reportedly occurred at around 1:40 PM.
According to reports, there were two occupants in the car. The driver of the vehicle has been identified as Gita Boro, a resident of six-mile, who was accompanied by her son.
The locals have alleged that the vehicle was driven by Boro's son at the time of the accident.
While speaking to GPlus, a traffic official from Sonapur Police Station said, "After being made aware of the accident, we reached the spot. As of now, no complaints have been filed by Barman's family. The vehicle is in custody at present."
