Lord Will Resurrect Tarun Gogoi, Church Prays for Former Assam CM

GUWAHATI: In a significant mark of testimony of India's secularism, former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi's last rally initiated from the Six Mile church in Guwahati.

The former Chief Minister’s procession waited outside the Church to seek the blessings of the Lord. 


Hundreds of locals of Rukminigaon and Six Mile area also paid their tributes to the former Chief Minister. 


"We all are waiting for the CM, as he was a nice human being," said a pedestrian waiting for the procession.


The envoy was welcomed with prayer songs from the Christian faith in Assamese. 


G Plus spoke to the chief Priest of the Catholic Cathedral Dispur who prayed for the former CM. "We believe in resurrection and forgiveness. As such we have prayed to the lord for the same for Mr Gogoi," said J Abraham, chief priest of the Church. 


Speaking to G Plus about Tarun Gogoi's remains visiting different faith establishments, Father Abraham stated that "The Catholic church believes different ways to attain salvation. Tarun Gogoi understood that in his life."
