GUWAHATI: The Election Commission of India (ECI) today announced the schedule for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections which is scheduled to start from April 19.

Here are the northeastern states and the election dates:
Assam - April 19, 26 and May 7.
Meghalaya – April 19
Arunachal Pradesh – April 19
Manipur – April 19 (Inner Manipur); April 26 (Outer Manipur)
Nagaland – April 19
Mizoram – April 19
Tripura – April 19
Sikkim – April 19

The counting of votes will be done on June 4, 2024 across the country.
The Lok Sabha election across the country will happen in seven phases along with Assembly elections which will happen in four states will happen simultaneously. Furthermore, Bye-Election will be held in 26 legislative constituencies across India.
